Today I have plunged through the depths of Potemkin Pictures array of fan films to visit the Project: Potemkin fan film ‘Care for a Lift?’.

Randall Landers stars as Commander Brian Reigert with Ricky Thompson as Lieutenant Commander Shelton with Ricky also directing this fan film.

This fan film was made to test out a camera and the background though the dialogue in this one is quite interesting as it tells you a lot about the Potemkin so make sure you’re listening carefully.

One cool thing is the turbolift graphic in the background, you can see the turbolift going down the ship, then you’ll see the deck number going between 3 and 4 as Commander Reigert and Lt. Commander Shelton are having their conversation and then you see graphic fluctuating, it’s great.

This fan film takes us back to the good old days of fan films, the era when people just had a shot at making a fan film, professionals were few and far in between and nobody asked people to pay for studios or got taken to court.

If you really think about it, the recent offerings in the Potemkin Pictures galaxy of fan films are done the same way as ‘Care for a Lift?’, just that there are more sets and cameras have come a long way and that is always a good thing.
