Dreadnaught Dominion has a new spin off called Project: Runabout and their first fan film is called Yorktown.
This fan film has Trekzone Fan Film Awards winners behind the scenes like David R. Wrenn and Samuel Cockings.
You’re probably thinking oh no, not another Yorktown story after the release of Yorktown: A Time To Heal but no this isn’t to do with the Starship that is called Yorktown but instead the hero ship (runabout) is the USS Rio Grande and its small crew.
The Rio Grande goes to investigate a rift in space that the USS Dominion was going to check out, the Dominion has been in the area before and clashed with a man named Kataka.
The Rio Grande arrives on scene and they find a ship called Motki’s Hammer preparing to enter the rift in order for Kataka to wipe Captain Jason Brousseau (played by Gary Davis) from history.
Without giving too much away, the Rio Grande crew have to follow the ship to stop Kataka from carrying out his plan whilst not causing any disruption to the current timeline which is no easy feat as they have to interact with people.
It is a good story, the crew is interesting, the cast is up to fan film standards and it it will be interesting to see what happens in future installments.
