Aaron Vanderkley is one of the best Star Trek fan film makers in the world and so fans were happy when he put a new fan film into production.
The new fan film is called Beyond the Sun and it runs for nineteen minutes which is under the maximum guideline time of 30 minutes.
Those who like the Voyager and Deep Space Nine era will like this fan film quite a lot as it visually honours that time period from the credits to the uniforms.
This fan film is one that tells a story, it starts off as a mystery, the encounter a ship heading towards a sun and is transmitting a distress signal.
All is not what it seems and choices have to be made whether they are good decisions it is something you’ll have to find out by watching it.
If you’re looking for a story that has no big combat scenes then this one is for you, it is pure story and will delight those who are getting annoyed with “Pew Pew” Star Trek no matter if it is on TV or on YouTube.
Rating: 4 out of 5
Beyond The Sun is a winner for the Star Trek fan film universe. It refreshes all the valid viewpoints for the Prime Directive in the most thoughtful ways that Voyager and Enterprise couldn’t. 🖖🏻

Star Trek: Beyond The Sun reminds us all how Trek stories were more enjoyable when they were simpler. Especially with all conflicting opinions about the Prime Directive equally mattering, as opposed to how needlessly depressing and constricting it became with Voyager and Enterprise.
