Starship Republic in 2017 released a vignette called Serpent of Yesterday.

The Science vessel USS Columbia came across a sphere that had crashed on Miras III and called in the USS Republic for help.

The Captain of the Columbia (Captain da Silva) beams aboard the Republic and was then joined by his Science Officer Debrya Vr’nai whose appearance has seemingly stunned Captain St James.

All was going well as the command staff had a meeting before an away team was dispatched to Miras III.

The sphere opened fire on the Republic and the unfortunate Mr Hawkins who was in command of the bridge was knocked out.

Captain St James was then put in a very difficult position, he couldn’t protect the USS Columbia with his shields and he couldn’t beam up his away team plus firing on the sphere would put the away team at risk.

The vignette has raked in a very respectable 72,000 views with a YouTube rating of 91.08%

It is a shame that more wasn’t made as there’s so many questions that needed answering such as did Mr Hawkins survive his head injury, did anybody from the Columbia survive? Did the away team survive? why was Captain St James stunned by Vr’nai?

The pros was that this vignette was interesting, it also had great ending credits.

The cons was that we never got the answers to the questions this vignette raised.
