Dreadnought Dominion’s ‘Redemption at Red Medusa’ starts off with a bang.
The USS Dominion whose registry is NCC-2115 is in trouble.
The three nacelle ship is seen to have no warp power and a scorched hull before the action cuts to a smoky bridge.
The beginning of this two parter is quickly explained so nobody will wonder why the action starts with a different bridge crew and then you see an almost a totally different crew on the same ship.
Without giving the story away, This two parter has it all from combat action to character development as characters are talking to each other about past history from the Dominion to family and this two parter even has a surprise ending as all is not what is seems in the beginning.
The title is really important as it sets up the story and the two parter answers what the redemption was for.
The sets at Neutral Zone Studios got a good workout in this production as there were plenty of ship locations shot and it is always good to see the detailed yet expensive to maintain sets in operation.
The two parter had a cast of twenty including casualties and there is no doubt that this fan film deserves more than the 1,600 views it currently has from two sources
Overall ‘Redemption at Red Medusa’ is an action packed fan film though it does have a few faults here and there with the biggest problem being mostly sound as it sounds flat in parts and perhaps editing could of been a little tighter before cutting to characters and them speaking but it is nothing that makes you want to press stop and do something else with your day.
